It's been a minute since we last got a visual from Baiyu. We've seen that she's deliberate and calculated in her career moves and it has definitely paid off for her. Her FreEP "Fan Fair" was downloaded a phenomenal 200k+ times! That just goes to show you that working a project for it's full lifespan makes all the difference in the world.

"Take a Number" is Baiyu's club anthem for all the girls with scores of lame suitors. The video does not feature Fred the Godson, who's featured on the album version. Either way, Baiyu is a super dope vocalist that stands on her own and I definitely see a breakout on the horizon. If you haven't downloaded "Fan Fair" already, hit the stream/download link below to get yourself up to speed. Enjoy....

Happy Valentine's Day, All!

To show my love for you, I bring you this exclusive release titled "Just Like Daddy" by Royce Castro. Whatever your relationship status is right now, music is always a great compliment to any day.

I'll be back in full swing tomorrow. As always, thank you for your continued support of RoxFontaine.com!

Be inspired. Inspiration is everywhere. We just have to be aware and available to receive it.

Today, my inspiration comes from Neak's "Big Dreamer" music video. Everything about this is fantastic! The music, message and visual are warm and encouraging. Director Domi V absolutely killed it with the video effects and Neak delivers a fine performance as is standard for him. "Big Dreamer" is just a very polished product.

Neak's new album 'Love Greater: The Prequel' drops today via Earmilk, DJ Booth and Prefix Mag. That's pretty damn epic.

Villa is just a smooth ass dude. I never quite know what to expect from him as far as content and concepts, but I know that the sound will be right "in the pocket." "Opening Ceremony" is no different and has the Atlanta MC's signature all over it.

This dropped several days ago but I hadn't posted it due to my 9-5 trying to drown me. It works out to be a fitting revival of my regular (but not regular) posting schedule. Villa is always saying something slick and my favorite line out of this new track is, "We're never comin' from the house but from the barracks only."

Damn right, Villa. Soldiers up!

Chicago work on deck for y'all from a new name for me. KidKing has a b-a-n-g-e-r with this C-Sick produced track. The first thing that stood out to me about this artist is something that a LOT of upcoming rappers don't understand: Conviction. KidKing's energy is infectious and his hunger is apparent. That's what it's about.

I found this total package to be exceptional. I was bouncing in my seat and damn near made myself dizzy nodding my head so hard. I can't wait to hear this track in the car. I'm gonna shake something loose for sure.

Dig in....

Keeping the momentum going, Soope just released this new video for "Born to Fly" from his 'Where in the World is Soope?' mixtape. I missed this video shoot a few weeks ago and now watching the final product makes me regret it even more. It looks like they had a blast.

The production on this track is just bonkers and Soope does what he always does with the flow and delivery. Top notch product all the way around. Every move Soope makes looks like another step closer to a breakout. "Born to Fly" is no different.

Sooooo, I had this gem camping out in my inbox for a few days. Reason being, my posting schedule was completely obliterated by the 9-5 the last 2 weeks. That's neither here nor there for right now though.

Niko Villamor slid his newest feature with Jasen Effe produced by Araab Muzik to me and, as usual, it's an ill cut. Instead of your standard ballistic Araab production, we have a much more settled and predictable track. I tried to find out what the sample is from but couldn't pin it down. I'm guessing it's an Oceanlab sample. Don't quote me on that though.

Jasen is new to me and it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Villa. They both brought the goods on "Electronic Dream." The two talk sweet to their respective female interests as the track gives us visions of a UFO ride through a distant galaxy. Check it out below....

Cocoa Sarai is a rock star. Bold. Fearless. Not just a recording artist but a true performing artist.

I couldn't quite put my finger on that up until a few weeks ago when Cocoa's manager made that distinction for me. I co-sponsored her album release party with Rocawear and Vibe Vixen and the night was aptly titled "The Cocoa Sarai Experience." You see, to know Cocoa is to experience Cocoa is to fall madly in love with Cocoa.

Her sophomore release 'The Black & White' is her middle finger to naysayers. Now more mature, more experienced and more creative, she has proven with this album that she can do anything she wants to do.

This album is nothing short of incredible! From the in-your-face intro, "The Black & White", to the power ballad "Live" at the album's close, Cocoa Sarai masterfully displays her fantastic songwriting abilities and jaw dropping vocal ability. Her tone and timbre will give you goosebumps.

The first single "Raining in my Room" was only scratching the surface of the depth and bredth of Cocoa's artistry. I won't get into a track by track synopsis of the album but works like"Memories 4 Suckers" and "One Second 2 Love" featuring triple threat Rich Lowe (rapper/singer/producer) will absolutely blow you away. "Live" and "Raining in my Room" tug at your heartstrings. The reworking of SWV's "Anything" featuring Fred the Godson, "Delete You" and "Criminal" cover the radio ready set. I thoroughly expect "Black & Blue" to be the breakout single though.

Cocoa and her production team did a phenomenal job on this project. They really captured the dynamics of Cocoa Sarai's talent and delivered a product that rivals anything in Pop and R&B right now. DEFINITELY spend the money for this album! You won't regret it. I expect this album to clean up at the next Underground Music Awards.

This nice little gem was dropped on me yesterday. A special delivery all the way from the UK. Reggiimental is totally new to me but I'm digging the Euro spin on the classic Boom Bap sound.

"Like You" is a love like letter to a lady that the artist has his eyes and heart set on. Very smooth and soulful production by Wizard and straight and honest lyricism from Reggiimental. Definitely appreciating Rusty Jay for putting me on to this one.

Check the video below and free download and stream below that.

Game on!

The internet was flooded a few weeks ago with news that Chicago's Mikkey Halsted had teamed up with legendary producers Traxster and No I.D. for his forthcoming 'The Force' album. You can expect that project to be sick as far as production goes, but will Mikkey Halsted be the breakout artist the two producers expect him to be? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, we have the first full leak from the album called "Money Making Mikkey." This one was handled by Traxster and it KNOCKS something stupid! As expected, Mikkey laid bars on this joint like Pawngo did to Wes Welker. 900 lbs. heavy.

I'm definitely looking forward to the full project. Of course, stay tuned to RoxFontaine.com as more develops. Check the audio below...
