WISCONSIN BEST KEPT SECRET! NEW RECORD(S) ON THE WAY!

Most know me as D'CYPLE but my real name is Nathan Bogdan. I was born in a small Wisconsin mill town. My parents moved here from Bellwood, Ill, a seedy suburb of Chicago, with the desire to raise their children away from the troubles city life can bring.

I was introduced to rap music when it was in its fledging years by my uncle Clint, who was then a disc jockey. I was impressed by the uniqueness of the sound, the way the artists threaded words together and created a distinct beat, rhythm, and rhyme scheme that flowed together, creating a noise that was going to take the industry by storm.

Some of the artists who influnced me were Rob Base, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, 2pac, Bob Marley, Warren G, Haystak, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr. Dre, Big L, Notorious B.I.G. and a plethera of others, but I didn't begin to compose until my early junior high school years. Like the rappers I admired, I wanted my songs to touch people. I wanted my words to mean something. Anybody could have a catchy tune but I wanted to make a statement. Thus, in my work I have tried to illustrate the common problems in today's society, from relationship issues to drugs to religion. Don't get me wrong...I do make music strictly for entertainment as well.

Some of these songs were derived from my own personal experiences. Despite the fact that my parents hoped trouble would overlook us in our little village, it found us anyway. In a small town, drugs are easily accessible to youth and one can find themselves in bad situations as a result. The trailer parks and dives that served as homes to some of my friends are our ghettos, proving one does not have to come from a large metropolis to experience poverty and depravity.

These life experiences have been reflected in my art. My life has been turned around and with every heartbeat I concentrate on channeling my creativity into words, rhythm, and song. I hope that you enjoy listening to my music as much as I have enjoyed creating it for you.
